Neilston Live! Festival

The idea of a cultural programme goes back to the founding principles of Space to Live. Now in its fourth year, the Neilston Live! Festival is the biggest thing to hit Neilston for years. For two weeks in august, the village is awash with children’s and adult workshops, family concerts, and special events form baking demonstrations to tea dances. The spectacular pipers parade has been an outright hit with bands from all over the world visiting such as the Pakistani Military Pipe Band in amazing costume. Young people are not forgotten with art projects and local bands.. the list goes on. This event has been put together by a team of volunteers, led by NDT’s vice-chair, Laura Carswell. A barfest’ fringe’ event is also held each year to promote local musicians and bands.
