our people: working with neilston’s people and partners

Our board currently consists of 7 voluntary positions elected by the membership and co-opted positions to attract particular skills on to our board. Each of the voluntary board members assumes a responsibility on a working group or for a particular area of work (e.g. finance, communication, governance etc). Our board has an excellent range of ages, backgrounds, skills, expertise and local knowledge.

Through our work, we aim to develop productive and supportive working relationships with the community of Neilston, local and national partners, and by working in collaboration, increase our collective impact and make a lasting and sustainable difference to community life and the lives of individuals.

Trust Co-ordinator

She spent a number of years living on the north coast of Ireland, where she developed her love of the ocean and became involved with a number of environmental campaigns and worked with the charity, Surfers Against Sewage. She has led a number of their campaigns to parliament, including protesting in the streets of Westminster, with her surfboard and wetsuit in a bid to reduce single use plastics! This enticed her to move forward with her career into the third sector.

With a background in Fine Art, she has led a number of community arts projects throughout the country and continues to do so.

Jennifer is responsible for the Co-ordinating of programmes and projects within the trust and is always on the lookout for how she can make the process of supporting our charity more effective, more productive and more fun. She enjoys forming relationships with other organisations and members of the community to ensure Neilston maintains it’s crown, as the best postcode in Scotland!

I have lived in Neilston since 1973. I am a retired engineer, married with 2 children and 4 grand children, interested in photography and improving Neilston.

I have been on the Board of NDT since 2006 ( 13 years). I joined the Board because I’d like to see a much improved Neilston and believe that local people must be involved in regeneration if it’s to be effective.

I hope to see the village centre transformed into an attractive, vibrant space.
